Alternative Fuel, please.
This country promises people a lot of things that never seem to materialize....like....public school teachers that are paid decent (Go Mom!), secured boarders, politicians that follow through, and I am still waiting for that hoverboard. But the biggest promise that we are all waiting for is that sacred alternative fuel source. GIVE ME SOMETHING THAT COSTS 10 CENTS A GALLON!!! People have been talking about it for years as they watch the oil prices surge upward. We are putting men on the moon for crying out load!!! Get me something cheaper to put in my car!!! If there were hoverboards, however, I wouldn't care because I would just ride that everywhere.

The Stadium Heard 'Round the State
Dave Checketts (Owner of Real Salt Lake) is one frustrated dude. I don't blame him. I want the soccer stadium in Sandy or Salt Lake or Magna just as much as he does. What surprised me is when Checketts lashed out at Larry Miller this week. Supposedly Miller doesn't want the stadium to compete with his beloved Delta Center. Whether Miller lobbied against it or not is a subject for another cartoon. BUT! I always go by the philosophy of 'don't blame the typewriter for your misspelled words'. Checketts has a dilemma. He needs to grab the bull by the horns and take care of it and stop point fingers at typewriters.

Cupello to my defense...
This letter to the editor was written in today's Daily Utah Chronicle
I guess my logic really isn't out in left field. Thanks Michael!
Roy Webb should be thankful for his freedom to be a liberal
letter to the editor
Editor: This article is in response to Roy Webb's tempter tantrum ("Kurt Francom should be thankful for his freedom to be a punk," July 6). His attempt to disguise his leftist agenda by feigning shock over Francom's editorial cartoon is pathetic.
Where was Webb while the president of the United States was repeatedly called a liar, in spite of weapons of mass destruction having been found in Iraq? George Bush currently serves his country and deserves respect. Yet, countless papers routinely publish cartoons mocking our current administration. Where is the liberal outcry against these???
There is no outcry-nor will there be. CNN and The New York Times are the sole inspiration of democrats and serve as the community well of thought for liberals. They have no choice but to worship and reiterate anything proclaimed by their "prophets." Nothing irritates a liberal more than solid logic and common sense, and the fact that infidel organizations like Fox News dare speak it. Well, maybe one thing-when others repeat it.

Stirin' the Pot
The following letter to the editor was printed in today's Chroni...
This morning, I looked at The Chronicle and saw the editorial cartoon (July 3) by…whatever his or her name is, mocking Rep. John Murtha-a decorated combat veteran-and thought, "is this a great country or what?"
Because of the First Amendment, some chickenhawk punk kid, who has likely never served outside the Cub Scouts and probably still lives in his parents' basement, is allowed to parrot GOP/Fox News talking points, and ridicule someone like Rep. Murtha-who has put his life on the line for his country in an actual war, won a bronze star for valor, been wounded twice in combat and been elected by the people of his district to the U.S. Congress for the past three decades.
I think it's great that Rep. Murtha's service provides such fodder for Mr./Ms. FranCom, or whatever the name is. After all, there really aren't that many people who've actually served their country-as opposed to feeding at the public trough-on the Republican side of the aisle.

As an editorial cartoonist it's good to know you are loved and especially hated. Thanks Roy!!!
